Summary of the job

The Buying Assistant helps run the buying department and its activities. They support the Category Buyer in creating and sharing a plan for products that aims to achieve financial goals.

What you will be doing

Creates performance reports to figure out the best way to use resources for the best results.
Looks at stock in the store by size for important categories. Special brands and other brands.
Answer questions from suppliers and work together with them to make sure they send their proposals on time.
Help check prices and get samples from suppliers.
Tells the Buying and Planning teams when items are out of stock.
Keeps the right amount of products in the store.
Meets or does better than sales, profit, and product turnover targets.
Joins weekly meetings with different teams to talk about current business problems.
Gains understanding of local differences and store features by studying data and talking with people in the field.
Builds good connections in the field to find potential locations for business or risks.

Skills needed to succeed

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
