Job summary
Amity International School in Abu Dhabi wants to hire a skilled and friendly Higher Education & Careers (HEC) Counsellor for the secondary school.

To help the expanding Senior School, Amity is looking for a new Careers and University advisor. The successful candidate will have experience and a strong desire to improve programs in the secondary school by working closely with students, teachers, and parents. The school has students from more than seventy different countries, so the students want to go to many different universities. The average Amity student is very ambitious and works hard, and they have big goals for which university they want to go to in the future. This is a great time to join Amity, and the right candidate should be eager to help the school provide excellent, personal college and career advice.

We want to find people who:

Has experience with and knows how UCAS works.
Has experience helping students get placed in universities in the US, Canada, and Australia.
Knows how important A levels and BTECs are around the world.
Works with universities to set up education fairs and arrange visits to the schools.
Creates and manages a careers program for students in Years 7 to 13. Works with the Deputy Head of Pastoral Care and Year Heads to include careers education in the KS3 and KS4 lessons.
Helps Year 9 students with their GCSE subject choices and Year 11 students with their A Level choices to plan for further studies and jobs.
Has experience using career education tools like Unifrog to help students figure out their skills, interests, and career options.
Builds relationships with employers to set up suitable work experience opportunities.
Sets up guest speakers to talk about their job experiences.
Keeps a strong group of former students connected.
