Right now, we are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Design and Technology Teacher for our secondary school to join our successful team. The chosen candidate will be expected to teach students of different ages and skill levels, including those preparing for GCSE and A-Level exams.
Main Job Duties
A teacher’s job includes these duties:
Teaching involves creating and getting ready for classes, giving and grading assignments, and tracking and sharing information about students’ growth and achievement according to the school’s rules and guidelines.
Using information to help teachers in the classroom, keeping an eye on how students are doing, and taking action quickly when needed.
Getting students ready for public exams, checking how well they are doing for those exams, keeping track of their scores, and going to meetings about the exams.
Talking and checking in with students’ parents, including writing reports.
Going to Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.
Keeping the students well-behaved and organized.
Joining department meetings and Open Evenings.
Working as part of a team to help create rules and practices for our department, start new courses, and plan lessons and ways to evaluate students.
Helping with admin and organizing tasks to keep the department running well.
Staying current with new teaching methods, taking part in training opportunities, and working on improving their own skills.
Helping support teachers in the classroom.
Helping and guiding a new teacher as they start teaching their class, if needed.
Preparing assignments for students when you know they will be absent and creating tasks for coworkers who are missing work if needed.
Being in charge of a specific part of the school subjects, managing, or improving a project.
Doing other tasks as asked by the Head of Department.
Getting to know the DSIB inspection system and what great teaching and learning looks like in the UAE.
Helping and following the ideas and cultural traditions of the UAE.

I have taught in schools that follow the British Curriculum, mainly at GCSE and A-Level.

Regularly stays informed about new changes in their field.
