Dental Assistant

Job Purpose: Help dentists and give dental care to eligible Emirates employees and their family members. Help with stopping infections and teaching patients, following the rules made by the Department of Health (DOH) and The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI), which is the organization that gives approval in Australia.

Job Description:

Your job is to greet and help patients and get them ready for their treatment following the clinic’s rules. You need to make sure patients feel comfortable and talk to them kindly, especially if they are nervous, anxious, or upset. It’s also important to keep their privacy and respect at all times. Guide and teach patients about care for their mouth after surgery and general dental health.
Help the dentist give the best dental care by making sure the dental rooms have enough supplies and clean tools. Make sure dental supplies are restocked on time by keeping track of what we have and managing materials, then ordering through the Clinic Pharmacy.
Help the dentist get all the tools and materials ready, keep the dental instruments clean, take care of supplies and equipment, and pass the tools and materials to the dentist while they are working. Help the dentist by taking care of the patient during treatment. This includes using tools like suction and other devices.
Gather and help write down patients’ health history. Make sure to keep dental records as the dentist says, and update the dental charts correctly.
Take, create, and store dental x-rays and Oral Periodontograms (OPGs) according to the clinic’s rules.
In charge of cleaning and sanitizing tools and equipment for the whole clinic. and for getting ready and showing the tools and materials needed to take care of each patient.
Follow the rules and procedures from the accreditation body and DOH to manage the infection control plan for the dental clinic. Make sure to keep dental work separate, clean the treatment room, properly clean the tools, and follow the steps for sterilizing and reusing equipment.
Do general office tasks like communicating and checking in with dental labs, specialists, HR, IT, and facilities when needed. Also, handle filing, confirming appointments, keeping treatment records, and managing the dental log book for administrative, accounting, and auditing needs.

Qualifications & Experience: Medical/Safety Nurse: Over 5 years.

Requirements:

A Diploma in Dental Assisting or Dental Nursing, which takes at least two years to complete, or a similar certification.

You need a DHA license or be eligible for it to work as a Dental Assistant.

Experience:

Over 5 years of working as a dental nurse or assistant.

Understanding/abilities:

Having work experience in a similar job after getting your registration is important. It’s also a plus if you have lived or worked in another country, especially in the Middle East. You need to have a valid CPR certificate and know how to use a computer.
