JOB PURPOSE means the reason for the job or what the job is meant to do.
The Mass Communication Department at the College of Communication in the University of Sharjah, UAE, is looking for applicants for the job of Assistant or Associate Professor in Media Production. Applicants need to have a solid background in research and be capable of teaching hands-on subjects related to television and film production, digital media design, journalism, and interactive media production. We will choose Arabic speakers first for this job. We are looking for excited, energetic, and successful people who are dedicated to teaching, research, and helping others. The person who gets the job will become part of our lively and diverse team, helping our students grow academically and professionally. The appointment will begin in September 2025 with the start of the new school year. The University of Sharjah provides a really good offer. The College of Communication has a lively group of researchers and is ranked among the best in the MENA region.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
The chosen person will be able to teach in one of our programs for college or graduate students.
He/she will teach classes about making media, like videos, radio shows, and digital designs.
The successful candidate is expected to do research and creative work.
Help the department support diversity, fairness, and inclusiveness by teaching, doing research, and participating in community activities.
I will help and guide students with their studies and career, including research projects and internships.
Will handle administrative tasks for academic committees, help out at the university, or do similar activities.

NEEDED SKILLS
The person applying should have:

A Ph. D is a high-level degree that people earn after doing a lot of study and research in a specific field. a degree in Mass Communication or a similar area from a good university.
At least 2 years of teaching experience after finishing the PhD.
A history of published articles that have been reviewed by other experts.
Proof of good teaching, helpful advising, and effective service.
Knowing Arabic will be helpful.
Great people skills and a dedication to working together with others in the department and university, as well as making connections with professionals, businesses, and former students from around the world.
In special situations, the College of Communication may accept people who do not fully meet the requirements to be hired as a lecturer.
